Effect of a 460-Hz 9-mT Pulsed Magnetic Field on Tumoral CSH/BI Female Mice

1990
In a previous experiment, the exposure of tumoral CSH/Bi female mice to a 6-mT, 460-Hz pulsed magnetic field (PMF) did not modify the survival times but resulted in lighter spleens, tumors, and lungs. Here 50 controls and 47 exposed mice were used with the same protocol but with a 9 mT PMF. The survival curves for each group were not significantly different. Death occurred as if it had been promoted before the 40th day of exposure, and delayed afterwards. The spleens were heavier in the exposed mice compared with the controls; the tumor and lung weights were similar in the two groups.
