Experimental studies on xenotransplantation of pretreated neonatal pig islets

1996
In order to look for a better islet pretreatment technique to decrease the immunogenicity, the studies on xenotransplantation of neonatal pig islets pretreated by 24℃ culture,Laser-irradiation and cryopreservation were conducted.Forty-nine rats(41.18%)were proved to be effective. But only 1(11.10%)was effective in nine control rats. The survival time of the pretreated group were 11.94±5.77days,and that of control group 9 days. The results indicated that the immunogenicity of pretreated neonatal pig islets were reduced markedly, and the effecacy of the transplantation was significantly increased compared to that of control group.
