Efficacy and economic evaluation of sequential levofloxacin therapy in elderly patients with acute pneumonia
2018
Objective
To evaluate the clinical efficacy and pharmacoeconomicvalue of levofloxacin in the treatment of acute pneumonia.
Methods
From March 2015 to March 2016, 120 elderly patients with acute pneumonia in Xishan Coal Worker General Hospital were selected as the research objects, and they were randomly divided into A, B, C three groups according to the envelope method, with 40 cases in each group.A group took levofloxacin injection intravenous oral sequential-levofloxacin tablets.B group took the levofloxacin Injection continuous intravenous infusion therapy.C group took moxifloxacin sodium chloride injection continuous intravenous infusion treatment effect of the three groups were compared the clinical efficacy and cost ratio.
Results
There was no statistically significant difference in treatment course among the three groups(P>0.05); The total effective rate of A, B, C three groups was 82.50%, 82.50%, 80.00%, respectively, there was no statistically significant difference among the three groups (χ2=0.2133, P>0.05); The cost effectiveness ratio of A group was 11.21, which in B group was 17.31, which in C group was 33.65, the cost effectiveness ratio of A group was significantly better than that of B group and C group(χ2=5.235, 5.982, all P<0.05).
Conclusion
The sequential treatment with levofloxacin injection can achieve good curative effect and lower economic cost for elderly patients with acute pneumonia.
