Impact Mechanism of Urban Lifeline System on Public Safety Based on Disaster Evolution Mechanism

Evolution research regarding the impacts of lifeline systems on urban safety is necessary toprevent major disasters. The causes and consequences of a disaster were classified based on various failuresof lifeline systems and then described for risk evaluation. We established four evolutionary modelsrepresenting personal injury and death, public transport inconvenience, daily life difficulties, and nationwidepanic. The various consequences of urban disasters occurring through correlated events were depicted in fullview. The proposed method can help decision makers efficiently establish proper measures to preventunexpected hazardous events to develop further.
