The Impact of Radiant Heating on the Performance of Sustainable Constructional Component under Elevated Temperature

2021
The present study investigates the impact of the heat treatment on the mechanical properties of the ferrocement element especially the flexural characteristics. A total of (126) ferrocement slab specimens (500×500 mm) were cast to satisfied 165 groups. These slab specimens were then, heated and tested under central patch load. The main parameters were temperature up to 600 oC, mixing cement sand ratios, thickness of slab specimens, and number of wire mesh layers as the reinforcement. It may be concluded that at any temperature, increasing the number of wire mesh, and specimen thickness will lead to an increase the initial cracking and ultimate load. At temperature (400) oC and above, when increase of sand ratio in mixture will lead to an increase in the value of initial crack and ultimate load, while at temperature (300) oC and below, the increase of sand ratio in mixture will lead to decrease in the value of initial crack and ultimate load.
