Vivencias de los roles de las madres estudiantes de tres programas de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales de la Universidad de La Salle

This thesis reports the socio-demographic characterization of the student-mothers’ situation, their performance as mothers and students, the meanings they built from playing the role of mother and student, their conflicts and the ways the face them, and the learning that have emerged form their performance of their roles within their familiar and educative contexts. This qualitative research allows understanding the student-mothers’ situation from the experience of being mother and student. The participants were 20 student-mothers registered at the Economy, Information Systems: Library Science and Archivist, and Social Work degree programs. The instrument used to collect data was a guide approach interview. Results contribute to the Social Work program and to the University Vicerectors’ panel, since it shows the true conditions of these student-mothers, so these circumstances are taken into account in the development of the programs addressed to improve their life quality.
