A study on a dry-type model transformer under distorted voltage waveforms
2012
The proposed method in this paper is an approach to reach an accurate high-frequency model of a transformer considering the distortions in the voltage source. Utilizing this method, one can calculate the voltage frequency spectrum on the secondary side of a transformer. A dry-type model transformer has been subjected to sinusoidal voltage waveforms varying in a wide range of frequencies, to extract its transfer function first. The transfer function along with the frequency spectrum of the voltage source converter is used in predicting the voltages on the secondary side over a wide range of frequencies. The results are compared with the actual voltage on the secondary side of the transformer model, and a good agreement is obtained.
