Características Vocales de un Grupo Docente: Universidad Metropolitana de Barranquilla

2018
This research was carried out in the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Program of Santiago de Cali University (USC), with the collaboration of each of the participating employers. The objective was to characterize the perception of employers about the academic quality of those who had graduated from the Program. The program included a descriptive study with samples from 23 employers who had under their charge 83 graduates; as a methodological resource a survey that qualifies the appreciation on a liker scale was designed.  The results showed that training practices were a platform for initiating the graduate’s work experience, especially in clinical areas that perform in areas of neuro-development and neuro-enabling. Similarly, it also determined that the perception of employers is that of positive orientation in the cognitive, praxiological and attitudinal axes investigated. It is important to emphasize that speech-language pathologists at  USC assume an assistant-employee role, and in a small proportion an employer role in which it is relevant to foster business entrepreneurship. The results are configured as an initiating moment in the identification of tensions between the academic-graduate-employer, and its continuity will allow for the provision of depth to the social relevance of the program, the institutional educational project, and the articulation between the training purposes, the horizon of students expectations and market dynamics.
