The engine control apparatus

An engine control apparatus configured to perform the engine when automatic stop to automatically stop the engine, and when a predetermined engine restart condition is satisfied automatically restart the engine when predetermined engine stop conditions are satisfied. Stop conditions include the vehicle speed decrease to be lower than a predetermined stop permission speed. The engine control apparatus comprising: change amount detection means for detecting that the vehicle has started to decelerate the vehicle speed has decreased to below the permissible speed during deceleration is stopped, the amount of change of the vehicle by the brake operation performed by the driver in; and stop determination means for based on the amount of change detected by the variation detecting means to determine whether it should perform when the engine is automatically stopped when the engine stop condition is satisfied.
