Abrasive carrier with gradient structure

The invention relates to an abrasive carrier, an abrasive article containing the abrasive carrier and abrasive, and methods of making the abrasive carrier and the abrasive article. The abrasive carrier comprises a carrier material. The carrier material comprises at least a first phase with first fibers and a second phase with second fibers. From the first phase to the second phase, there is a continuous transition in which the content of first fibers decreases and the content of second fibers increases. The first fibers are different from the second fibers.
