Finite elements calculation of polarized, anisotropic and saturated electromechanical structures

1983
Such electromechanical systems as micro-stepping motors, permanent magnet motors or generators and transducers are characterized by an anisotropic structure with large air-gaps. The determination of static and dynamic characteristics are very difficult to forsee and such systems are very expensive to develop by means of prototypes. The realized program of simulation is a finite elements method which allows the determination of static characteristics as torques, forces, fluxes or inductances. It is a two dimensional one. The model takes into account the anisotropic, non linear and polarized characteristics in two perpendicular directions of the different materials as permanent magnet and iron. The polarized domains are replaced by non polarized with equivalent current sheet on the surface. Different examples of application of the model as magnet structures in the air and micro-stepping motors are presented.
