Newly-added Station Location-allocation in One-way Station-based Carsharing Systems

2019
Determining the location of stations in carsharing system has been studied a lot recently, especially for one-way station-based carsharing systems in which users are able to return the rented car to any available stations, not limited to the origin station. In this paper, we focus on the dynamic pattern of the gradually increasing stations in an existed carsharing system and proposed a method to determine the newly-added station location, capacity and vehicle numbers, where the demands of carsharing are predicted according to citizens’ mobility transition probabilies among regions. And we specially consider the self-loop flow pattern which is inevitable in the carsharing system. Finally, we show the feasibility of the proposed model with a case study of Xuhui District, Shanghai, China.
