Interleukin-17 in Pregnancy and Gestational Diseases

Interleukin-17(IL-17) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted exclusively by activated T-cells, plays an important role in immunoloregulation,proinflammatory,regulating trophoblast invasion and angiogenesis。 IL-17 is also a host mechanism of immunopathology of infectious diseases and auto-immune disease.IL-17 are expressed in placental trophoblast cells, extravillous trophoblast cells, and placental macrophages(Hofbauer cells).Moreover, the expression of IL-17 are viable in different phases of pregnancy, IL-17 may involve in immunoregulation in the establishment of pregnancy.In this article, We provide a brief review about interleukin-17 in pregnancy and gestational diseases.
