New type of system for high-temperature measurement using fiber optic sensor

2000
In this paper, a fiber optic sensor system for high temperature measurement, which is supposed to be the combination of black-body cavity, optical fiber and colorimetry, is introduced. Based on the principle of black- body radiation, the system aims at measuring temperature by use of black-body cavity and a probe made from optical fibers. The accuracy of this system is about 1%. The system is of strong chemical stability and resistance to strong magnetic interference with its measuring range from 600 degree(s)C and 1800 degree(s)C.© (2000) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
