Finite Element Modeling of Thermoelectrically Coupled Nanoantennas for Mid- to Far-Infrared Detection

Multiphysics simulations of thermoelectrically coupled nanoantennas (TECNAs) using COMSOL to design mid-to far infrared detectors for solar imaging is presented. The simulation of TECNAs includes electromagnetic wave propagation and the resulting heat transfer. We show the modeling environment, geometry, boundary conditions, and frequency response of nanoantennas, obtained by simulations, between 20 µm and 80 µm.
