AMINO ACIDURIA, CONGENITAL DEFECTS, AND MENTAL RETARDATION

Summary A series of six cases with varying degrees of congenital anomalies, mental retardation, and abnormal output of amino acid nitrogen in the urine have been described. Further investigation of these children and their families is contemplated. Studies of metabolism and kidney function as well as detailed investigation of the amino acids in the blood and urine will be made. The families with be studied for hereditary traits.
