Preparation and characterization of Artemisia sphaerocephala gum composite hydrogels: Evaluation of rheological and release behaviour

Novel semi-IPN hydrogels composed of sodium alginate (SA) and Artemisia sphaerocephala gum (ASG) were prepared using a water/ethanol method. SA/ASG hydrogels showed enhanced mechanical properties, excellent swelling, and good release capabilities, which are crucial for medical and pharmaceutical applications.
