The foremost concerns of any organisation setting out on a development project are usually how much is it going to cost and how long will it take. Stories abound of development costs soaring out of control, or of a six-month project taking two years and costing five times the original estimate. The reality is rarely so dramatic, but it is a legitimate concern. How do you control the expenditure and the timescale on a complex development project?
