Explosibility of nontraditional dusts: Experimental and modeling challenges
2012
The current paper describes experimental and modeling research for a series of nontraditional particulate fuel/air systems: nanomaterials, fiocculent materials and hybrid mixtures. At the time of writing, experimentation is at the following stages: (i) nanomaterials - completed with data analysis performed, (ii) fiocculent materials - completed with data analysis performed, and (iii) hybrid mixtures - underway (about 70 % completed) with data analysis in the early stages. Modeling work is also underway and includes phenomenological, thermokinetic and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) considerations. © 2012 IChemE.
