Business Plan for ITS and Green Mobility

The City of Copenhagen is committed to the vision of being the World’s first carbon neutral Capital. As part of the City’s climate plan, 18 specific business plans has been drafted. One of these, the business plan for intelligent transport systems (ITS) and green mobility, is presented by this paper. It is discussed how ITS, intelligent transport solutions, may promote green mobility and prevent congestion. The plan has been developed in dialogue with the major partners within the ITS Industry such as IBM, Logica and Accenture. Transport researchers have also given important contributions to the plan. The plan was endorsed by the City Council in September 2012 – The city is committed to make streets and roads available for piloting and experiencing innovative and intelligent solutions for green mobility.
