An apparatus for separating and receiving sweets

An apparatus (10) transferring sweets (1) has a cutting device for separating sweets (1) from a melt strand. The cutting device (11) is followed by a continuously driven gripper wheel (25), which comprises pivoted gripper pairs (26). The axis of rotation (24) of the gripper wheel (25) is parallel with the conveying direction of the melt strand (12) and a holding surface (30) of each of the gripper pairs (26) serves as bearing surface for a separated sweet (1). The apparatus according to the invention has the advantage that the sweets (1) can be transferred without the risk of damage, and that the apparatus (10) is of simple construction mechanically.
