Spin-wave based devices for processing radio signals in the frequency range 50 MHz-20 GHz

2000
A survey of studies of spin waves, i.e., waves that are capable of propagating in ferrite plates and films in an applied saturated magnetic bias field, is given. The different types of structures, effective methods of excitation and recognition of spin waves in such structures are discussed, along with physical phenomena observed in the propagation of spin waves. A number of suggestions for the use of these phenomena in the design of essentially new devices for processing radio signals are also presented.
