Measurement of the concentration profiles of reacting components and temperature in an ammonium perchlorate flame

1982
The chemistry of the process, the measurement of combustion, and the profiles of concentrations of components in the APC (ammonium perchloride) flame are almost nonexistent. This study investigates the profiles of concentrations of reacting components and the temperature in an APC flame. Mass spectrometry, updated as specified, was used to yield more accurate information on intensity profiles of mass peaks in the APC flame. Components such as N/sub 2/, O/sub 2/, NO/sub 2/, Cl/sub 2/, ClO/sub 2/ are identified by molecular ion peaks. The temperature profile is also determined.
