In Caucasians, malar prominence has been identified as the oval face appearance and as the symbol of elegance as well as youth. Malar augmentation is a cosmetic facial contouring procedure using either synthetics or biologicals to increase malar/cheek bone prominence and balance an otherwise less defined face.
