FE Analysis Model for Simulation of Collision Behavior of Derailed Train

The train derailment accident occurs with a low incidence, but the damage due to train derailment can become quite big disaster. Recently, the derailment accident has often been occurring at home and abroad. The derailment protection facilities are being applied to minimize expansion of damage by train derailment in various countries operating railway of the world. In this paper, 3D finite element analysis model is developed to simulate collision behavior of derailed train. And numerical verification of the developed model is carried out about train derailment-collision behavior.
