SUMMARY Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a rare slow-growing malignant neoplasia characterized by a poor prognostic, due to his aggressive and large potential of recurrence. The lesion is more prevalent in patients between 50 and 70 years old, rarely occurring in young people. The article reports a case of adenoid cystic carcinoma in minor salivary glands located in hard palate in a male young adult who was referred for treatment at Head and Neck Surgery Unit of Sao Lucas Hospital – PUCRS.
