Application of the Grassberger-Proccacia method of extracting fractal dimension of attractors from time-series is applied to various flows: Rayleigh-Benard and electrohydrodynamical convection (EHD) and grid-generated turbulence. Comparison with both known attractors and random white noise is carried out. For Rayleigh-Benard convection a low dimensional (ν=3,0±0,2) attractor is found. A wider study has been undertaken in the case of EHD flow (variation with instability parameter and aspect ratio).
