Synthetic resin material partially crosslinked with unsaturated ester

1995
PURPOSE: To obtain a partially crosslinked synthetic resin material excellent in mechanical strengths, tensile strength, and processing characteristics by reacting a propylene polymer with a specific compd. under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION: The objective material, having melt flow index(MFI) (at 23°C under a load of 2.16 kg) of 0.1-100 g/10 min, is prepd. by reacting, at 180-280°C under a pressure of 1-100 bar for 2-10 min, (B) a compd. of the formula (wherein R is H of 1-4C alkyl; X is a 7-30C aralkyl or 1-30C alkyl group optionally interrupted by at least one O and/or N atom; and n is 2 or 3) with (A) (a) a polymer mixture of 25-97 wt.% propylene copolymer contg. 0.1-15 wt.% 2-10C alkane-derived units with 3-75 wt.% propylene copolymer contg. 15-80 wt.% 2-10C alkene-derived units, (b) a propylene homopolymer having an MFI (at 23°C under a load of 2.16 kg) of 0.01-100 g/10 min, or (c) a random propylene copolymer contg. less than 15 wt.% 2-10C alkene-derived units.
