Hypogastric Arteries: Aneurysms, Occlusions Before Stent Grafting

Occlusions are done to prevent a reinjection of the aneurysmal sac by collateral pelvic circulation via the hypogastric artery (type II endoleak), once the covered stent is positioned in the common and external iliac artery, occluding the hypogastric ostium.
