Психиатрическая помощь военнослужащим Красной армии в годы Великой Отечественной войны

In this scientific review, pursuing the objective of elucidating the problem of providing psychiatric care to Red Army servicemen in the course of the Great Patriotic War, we submit the analysis of the approaches towards diagnosis and medical triage, which changed overtime, the principles of evacuation, treatment methods and outcomes of combat induced mental pathology in serviceman of the army at war. This article points out the shortage of medical personnel and the high level of temporary loss of military personnel due to mental disorders in the first months of the war. We submit a description of the steps taken to reorganize psychiatric care.  We submit a discussion of the challenges encountered in diagnosing and classifying mental disorders in servicemen of the army at war, as well as the use of the diagnostic category of “concussion” in the Soviet military psychiatry of that time.
