All these example show that (7) in fact gives a lower bound to the gradients at hydro- gen nuclei in the Z states of actual diatomic molecules. That semiempirical bound is based only on the adiabatic potential curves and can be used to determine lower bounds for hydro- gen nuclei in Z states for various diatomic and linear polyatomic molecules.
