Implementation of the ESPRIT Algorithm to SAR Parameter Inference

2020
To data processing of Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR), Doppler centroid and Doppler frequency rate are crucial parameters. It is an efficient way to derive Doppler parameters from radar echo information. To achieve accurate performance, we try to apply an advanced signal processing algorithm, namely, Estimating Signal Parameter via Rotation Invariance Techniques (ESPRIT), into SAR parameter inference. Doppler frequency rate can be estimated by the phase difference principle. Doppler ambiguity can be solved by beat frequency of two range looks. To facilitate the algorithm, we also implemented an adaptive filter to lower the computational complexity. Numerical simulations demonstrate the ESPRIT algorithm a supreme tool when applied.
