Mn3O4 Octahedral Microparticles Prepared by Facile Dealloying Process as Efficient Sulfur Hosts for Lithium/Sulfur Batteries

2018
A facile and industry-accepted dealloying method was used to synthesize Mn3O4particles, which were then employed to prepare sulfur/Mn3O4(S/Mn3O4) composites as cathode materials for lithium-sulfur batteries. The composites delivered initial discharge capacity reaching up 1184 mAh·g−1at 0.1 C with capacity retention of 679 mAh·g−1after 150 cycles. In addition, even at 2 C, the lithium/sulfur battery with S/Mn3O4cathode delivered high reversible discharge capacity of 540 mAh g−1, demonstrating excellent rate capability.
