Performance Analysis of Neighbour Centrality Method Based Rumor Spread Control with Variable Spreading Rate

2019
In a classic rumor spreading model called susceptible-infected removable (SIR) model, in which every node spreads rumor proportionally to its degree and there is a coordinated tie strength between all the edges. The spread of rumors is similar to the spread of transmission, in which the information of all nodes spreads into neighboring nodes. In earlier rumored models, step nodes are associated with all their neighbors every time. In a more realistic scenario, a node can only communicate with any of its neighbors towards spread rumors. Immunization of every node is a difficult task to perform in a large network therefore it is important to remove large percentage of infected nodes. In this paper, a strategy is proposed in which variation of spreading rates with the inoculation probability is considered on a weighted scale-free network in which transmission of rumor from one node to its adjacent link is considered as a variable entity throughout the network.
