Análise da praticabilidade de um instrumento de avaliação do esquema corporal para crianças com cegueira

Objective: The research aims to describe one of the stages of the process of elaborating and validating an instrument for the Assessment of Body Scheme in Children with Blindness (IABSCB), and making the necessary modifications to the instrument. Method: The study is characterized as a field research with a quali-quantitative approach, of the type Methodological Research. The participants were five children with visual impairment, between six and nine years old. Results: After application of the IABSCB, there was a need to make adjustments in tests 2 and 3, there was also the require to reduce the testing time. Modifications were made in relation to the form of instruction and application procedures in the three tests that are part of the instrument. Conclusions: This article reports the testing phase of the suitability and applicability of the instrument, from which it was possible to estimate the time of application of the instrument; adjust the tests and instructions according to the perceptual framework and age of the target population. Thus, it is proposed to be used to collect information, compose batteries of psychomotor tests for 6 years old children with blindness, assist in the construction of intervention programs or diagnose possible changes related to the development of the body scheme of children with blindness.
