New compact and precise magnetometer

Abstract Torque magnetometer can give a rough evaluation of electrical sheet texture components. A small torque magnetometer for routine measurements is described. The 14 mm diameter punched sample is placed in an homogeneous field of 1 T created by an Halbach type cylinder. The torque sensitivity is (3.75±0.04)×10 −5  Nm/mA. Result on FeNiCrCo is presented and some relevant uncertainties are discussed.
