The content of Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles in lubricating oil impacted on the law of lubricating properties

In this paper the content of nanoparticles in lubricating oil impacted on the law of lubricating properties is studied.The modified lubricating oil of different nano-particles concentration is developed by dispersing the diameter of 20 ~ 30 nm of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the 52 # cylinder,and then the modified lubricating oil is used in cold extrusion of the titanium bar(TA2).The paper systematically studied the influence law caused by the concentration of Fe3O4 nanoparticles by contrasting the maximum extrusion force,extrusion deformation work,Ra and HV of cold extrusion of the titanium(TA2).Meanwhile,the tribological mechanism is analysed.The experimental results can be illustrated as follows:the optimum concentration of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in lubricating oil is 8%(wt).On condition that both the maximum extrusion force and extrusion deformation work of cold-extruded workpiece have the lowest value and the surface quality can reach the best.The functions of nanoparticles' filling an rolling to friction surface and supporting to the film of 52 # cylinder oil are the main reasons to improve the lubricating oil properties.
