Synthesis of Diversely Functionalized 2,2-Disubstituted Oxetanes: Fragment Motifs in New Chemical Space.

Starting from unsymmetrically substituted acceptor-acceptor or acceptor-aryl diazo compounds a two-step transformation via O—H insertion of substituted 2-haloethanols and subsequent base-induced cyclization is elaborated.
