Process for producing paraxylene.

A process for producing para-xylene from a feedstock of C8 aromatics + containing xylenes and ethylbenzene, the process comprising the steps of: (a) subjecting said feedstock to ethylbenzene conversion in a first stage to provide first effluent stream; (B) separating the C9 + aromatics and, optionally mind,, ortho-xylene from said first effluent stream to provide a first depleted stream; (C) recovering para -xylene from said first depleted to provide a second depleted stream stream; (D) isomerizing xylenes in said second depleted stream to provide a second effluent stream; (E) recycling said second effluent stream into said first depleted stream prior to para -xylene recovery; and (f) recycling a slip stream from said second depleted stream into said feedstock.
