Trimaran design – choices and variants for surface applications

A number of conceptual alternatives to the standard trimaran configuration for use in future surface warship applications are proposed. The benefits of the trimaran configuration as a surface warship are discussed, with some of the variants, including the Pentamaran, comprising split side-hulls.
