A small-size pulse modulator

This paper describes a high-voltage pulse modulator in which the power transformer is directly inserted in the charging circuit of the pulse-shaping line. This works at a high frequency. The main parameters of the modulator are described and include: output voltage 20 kV; pulse duration 15 ..mu..sec; output power 500 kW in the pulse; and pulse-repition rate 0-100 Hz. Dimensions of the modulator: diameter 300X500 mm; weight is less than 30 kg.
