The embodiment of the invention discloses an image processing method and equipment, and the method and equipment are used for keeping the details of an image better. The method comprises the steps: obtaining a high dynamic range image, and obtaining a brightness image of the high dynamic range image according to the high dynamic range image; extracting an anisotropic region of the brightness image; converting the anisotropic region into an isotropic region through affine transformation; carrying out the shading and exposure processing of the isotropic region, and obtaining a low dynamic range first image; processing the first image, and obtaining a base layer image and a detail layer image; carrying out the compression of the base layer image, and obtaining a compressed base layer image; carrying out the synthesis processing of the compressed base layer image and the detail layer image, and obtaining a second image; carrying out the chrominance processing of the second image, and obtaining an image after chrominance processing; carrying out the gamma correction of the image after chrominance processing, and obtaining an output image. The embodiment of the invention also provides the image processing equipment, and the equipment is used for keeping more abundant details of the image.
