Detection of waste water outflow from a dump within cristalline rock

1993
A former granite pothole, located in Eastern Saxony (Germany) over a period of 10 years has been used as a waste dump not only for ashes of thermal power stations, but also for waste of pharmaceutical-, paintindustrial and other chemical productions. The waste water, which has a volume of more than 18000m³ is very toxic and must be pumped out.
