Performance evaluation of a spinning flat reflector for millimeter-wave radiometry

1996
Describes experiments to demonstrate the use of spinning reflectors of SHF/EHF ground-based dual-frequency radiometers for the purpose of cloud remote sensing. This work is particularly important for observation of the supercooled liquid water of winter storms. The experiments confirmed the value of spinning reflectors in dispersing precipitating particles that would otherwise land on the reflector and interfere with the radiometer readings.
