Chapter 4:The Relevant Chemistry of Imidazoline-2-selone Donors with Potential Biological Applications

In this chapter, the chemistry of imidazoline-2-selone derivatives and their sulfur analogues towards dihalogens, inter-halogens and copper(ii/i) is revised in connection with the potential biological applications of these molecules as anti-thyroid drugs and as anti-oxidants by metal binding for prevention of oxidative DNA damage.
