La picadura del pez araña

We present the case of a patient stung by a weeverfish (gen Trachinus), frequent in Atlantic warm seas, who evolved whithout complications. We describe the characteristics of these venomous fish, the injury caused by it, its complications and its management and prevention. The Primary Health Care physician in our setting, must be able to recognize and manage the weeverfish stinging because of its occasionaly severe results.
