Structural and Optical Peroperties of Mg_xZn_(1-x)O Films

MgxZn1-xO films were deposited by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) on sapphire substrate (1120). Optical properties were investigated at different Mg concentration. The photoluminescence decay curves of the films with different Mg contents at 77 K were carried out. It was found that exciton lifetimes of the films become longer with increasing Mg content. For a film with Mg concentration of 50%,the exciton lifetime is 872 ps.
