Method and apparatus for an electrical consumer FUNCTION MONITORING

The process monitors the functioning of an electrical consumer controlled by a control circuit, and records faults in the consumer by composing a signal which serves to control the consumer with a return signal sent to the control circuit by the consumer. By means of logical analysis of the signals before, during and after a switching event, it is possible to detect a short circuit to earth or in the supply voltage, or a cable failure. Individual faults can thus be distinguished from one another.
