Filter system with shock wave generating device

The invention relates to a filter system (100) for filtering a fluid, in particular an internal combustion engine, with a fluid path (14) connecting an unfiltered side (18) having a clean side (16) of the filter system. The filter system (100) comprises at least one filter element (10) having a filter bellows (12) which separates the dirty side (18) from the clean side (16), a filter housing (108), in which the filter element (10) is arranged, and a pressure line (20) which opens into the filter housing (108) and which is connected to a shock wave generating apparatus (30). In this case, the shock wave generating means (30), if necessary, a shock wave for cleaning the filter element (10) is available, which through the pressure line (20) onto the filter bellows (12) acts directly or indirectly. The invention further relates to a filter element (10) for use in such a filter system (100).
