The invention relates to a low-voltage power supply system of a hybrid power automobile and a control method thereof and belongs to the technical field of hybrid power automobiles. The low-voltage power supply system is controlled to work according to a working state of an engine. Under the condition that the engine works, according to the whole automobile low-voltage power supply system, power is supplied to the whole automobile after a low-voltage generator, a direct current to direct current converter (DCDC converter) and a storage battery are in parallel connection with each other, and the low-voltage generator supplies power preferentially. Under an idling shutdown state, the DCDC and the storage battery supply power to the whole automobile after parallel connection, and a whole automobile load is provided preferentially by the DCDC converter. The low-voltage power supply system can not only improve efficiency and fuel saving rate, but also solve the problem of voltage insufficiency caused by introduction of an idling shutdown function.
